Lady Gaga will not be playing English singer Cilla Black in “Dionne,” the Dionne Warwick biopic, her rep tells Variety.

“Lady Gaga is not attached and will not appear in the project,” her publicist said. “Reports of Gaga starring in the project are false.”

According to a source, Lady Gaga had never even heard of the movie.

Gaga’s supposed casting made international headlines, after Warwick held a press conference in Cannes  on Friday afternoon and told reporters that the “Born This Way” singer had committed to the film. Journalists were even shown a promotional poster with Gaga’s name on it.

Warwick said the character Gaga would be playing would be “her nemesis.” “She stole my songs,” Warwick said of Black. “I’m not a happy camper about that.”

The Cannes event on Friday was publicized by Rogers and Cowan, who released a press release with the casting news.

Warwick’s rep wasn’t immediately available for comment.
