James Le Gros and Nolan Lyons (“Boardwalk Empire”) are starring in the indie drama “Buck Run,” set to begin filming in October in central Pennsylvania.

Kevin J. O’Connor, Amy Hargreaves, Jim Parrack, and Angus Macfadyen are also toplining, while Nick Frangione is directing from a script by David Hauslein. The film follows Lyons’ character, Shaw, who’s forced to reunite with his estranged father, played by Le Gros, following his mother’s (Hargreaves) death due to cancer. A tragic lie, however, soon comes back to haunt the father.

Producers are Nancy Degnan, Julio Lopez Velasquez, Allison Vanore, and Nick Frangione. Harley Kaplan and Brandon Powers executive produce. Production companies are Tomorrowland Production Company and Intuition Film Productions.

“I lost my mother to cancer at age 17 during a cold Pennsylvania winter, so I know Shaw’s story all too well, and I couldn’t possibly imagine a better cast to bring this film to life,” Frangione said.

“Buck” will begin production in Lewisburg, Pa., and the surrounding towns of Milton and Mifflinburg on Oct. 22.

Le Gros has extensive credits and is best known for “Drugstore Cowboy.” He appeared in the original “Point Break” and in last year’s reboot.
