James Badge Dale is in talks to join Josh Brolin and Miles Teller in the Black Label Media’s untitled firefighter action movie, sources tell Variety.

“Tron: Legacy” helmer Joseph Kosinski will direct the film, which tells the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, a group of firefighters that faced one of the deadliest wildfires in history in order to save an Arizona town, resulting in the tragic death of 19 crew members.

Ken Nolan developed the story on spec with the producers.

Badge Dale will play one of the firefighters.

Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, Erik Howsam, Jeremy Steckler, Dawn Ostroff, Mike Menchel, Black Label Media’s Molly Smith, Trent Luckinbill and Thad Luckinbill are producing the film. Black Label is financing.

No production start date has been set for the film.

Badge Dale is coming off the Michael Bay action pic “13 Hours: the Secret Soldiers of Benghazi” and will star in the Legendary supernatural actioner “Spectral”, which bows this. He was also recently seen in the TriStar pic “The Walk” opposite Joseph Gordon Levitt.

He is repped by CAA, MJ Management and Jackoway, Tyerman, Wertheimer, Austen, Mandelbaum, Morris & Klein.
