The promotion — which makes Rossellini the studio’s top business executive — is the latest in a string of executive shuffles at Fox, where Snider took over last month as 20th Century Fox chairman and CEO from Jim Gianopulos. Earlier this week, Snider picked former Fox marketing co-president Pamela Levine to return as president of worldwide theatrical marketing.
“We feel very lucky to have such an incredibly respected and talented executive as Vicki Rossellini not only as part of the family, but as someone who we can rely upon to lead our business and legal affairs teams into the future,” Snider said. “Her work with our strategic partnerships is exemplary and I am proud that we can now watch her expand her purview with this crucial position.”
Rossellini is taking over many of the duties performed by Greg Gelfan, who left in June after more than two decades at Fox, last serving as an executive vice president of the studio’s Film and Entertainment Group. Gelfan was closely linked to outgoing CEO Gianopulos and was known for keeping firm control over the studio’s spending.
Rossellini, who assumes her new post immediately and reports directly to Snider, will oversee all theatrical business and legal affairs, as well as business and legal affairs for digital, home entertainment and television distribution. She will continue to manage existing strategic financing arrangements and develop new opportunities.
Rossellini most recently served as Executive Vice President, Production Finance and Business Affairs for the studio, where she has been responsible for structuring and managing Fox’s largest financial partnerships, including the current TSG Entertainment relationship and the previous Dune Entertainment alliance. She also has managed Fox’s business relationship with James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment for the last 24 years, which has included the launch of the “Avatar” franchise.
Rossellini joined Fox in 1992 in the theatrical legal department and was promoted in 1994 to VP in that area of the studio. She later was promoted to Senior VP of Theatrical Business Affairs.
