‘Dope’s’ Kiersey Clemons to Star Opposite Ellen Page in ‘Flatliners’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Kiersey Clemons is joining the ensemble of Sony’s remake of the 1990 thriller “Flatliners,” starring Ellen Page.

“The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” helmer Niels Arden Oplev will direct the movie, which also stars Diego Luna and Nina Dobrev.

Ben Ripley wrote the screenplay and Laurence Mark will produce with Michael Douglas. Production is expected to start in early July.

The original movie followed a group of medical students who experimented with “near death” experiences that involved past tragedies until the dark consequences began to jeopardize their lives.

Clemons will play a young medical student struggling to endure both the rigors of her workload and the overbearing mother with whom she still lives. Sony declined to comment.

In addition to her breakout performance in the Sundance standout “Dope,” the young thesp appears as Bianca on the award-winning Amazon series “Transparent.” Clemons will next be seen in “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising” opposite Seth Rogen, Chloe Moretz and Zac Efron. The comedy bows on May 20.

She is repped by UTA, Starr Andreeff at MJMG and Eddie Galan at Mach 1 Management.
