Fox has released the first look at “Snatched,” the mother-daughter action-comedy starring Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer. The hijinks filled footage was released five months before the film’s Mothers Day weekend release on May 12.
The trailer opens with Schumer’s character getting dumped and then persuading her uptight mother, played by Hawn, to go with her on a vacation.
“Look how much fun you were” Schumer asserts while looking at a scrapbook. “Pack your bags, we’re going to South America.”
The trailer then shows Hawn clothed from head to toe on the beach while a bikini-clad Schumer asks “Why are you dressed like a beekeeper?”
That’s followed by Schumer declaring that she wants an “amazing adventure.” That features a car crash in the jungle, being taken hostage — “We’ve been Liam Neeson ‘Taken,” Hawn yells — along with jumping off a roof to escape and being told by young man, “You’re like melted candles.”
Jonathan Levine is directing from a script by Katie Dippold, which is inspired by her relationship with her mother. The film also stars Christopher Meloni, Ike Barinholtz, Óscar Jaenada, Randall Park, and Wanda Sykes.
“Snatched” is the first movie role for Hawn since 2002’s “The Banger Sisters.”
