Emily Blunt Loses Her Mind in New ‘Girl on the Train’ Trailer

Emily Blunt is front and center in Universal’s new trailer for the mystery “The Girl on the Train,” as her character’s post-divorce life slowly disintegrates.

The trailer starts with her character Rachel talking about how she had watched a perfect couple from the train — “They were the embodiment of true love.”

It ends with her being questioned by Allison Janney’s detective character about whether she committed a murder of her ex-husband’s nanny, Megan Hipwell (played by Haley Bennett).

The trailer makes no effort to resolve the mystery. It introduces Justin Theroux who stars as Rachel’s ex-husband.

Luke Evans plays Megan’s husband. The new trailer is set to Kanye West’s “Heartless.”

The Girl on the Train,” adapted from Paula Hawkins’ best-seller and directed by Tate Taylor, hits theaters on Oct. 7.

SXSW Film Review: 'Come as You Are'

The rare remake that’s actually a slight improvement on its predecessor, Richard Wong’s “Come as You Are” translates Geoffrey Enthoven’s 2011 Belgian “Hasta la Vista” to middle America. Other changes are less substantial, but this seriocomedy has a less formulaic feel than the original while remaining a crowd-pleasing buddy pic-caper with a soft-pedaled minority empowerment [...]

Then he ditched that persona (and [...]

    SXSW Film Review: ‘Bluebird’

As affectionate as a love letter but as substantial as an infomercial, Brian Loschiavo’s “Bluebird” may be of most interest to casual and/or newly converted country music fans who have occasionally wondered about the songwriters behind the songs. There’s a better than even-money chance that anyone who’s a loyal and longtime aficionado of the musical [...]
