Universal Pictures has acquired the untitled holiday pitch focused on adventures of Mrs. Claus from “Pitch Perfect” producers Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman.

Insiders confirmed to Variety that Emmy-winning writer John Riggi will pen the script as well as exec produce. Banks and Handelman will produce through their Brownstone Pictures.

The plot centers on Mrs. Claus as she navigates life and marriage in the stressful month leading up to Christmas.

As of right now, Banks will only produce and is not attached to star as Mrs. Claus.

Riggi has a long career of working for several successful TV shows including “The Larry Sanders Show,” “Will and Grace” and “Family Guy.” He most recently worked on the Rebel Wilson comedy “Super Fun Night.” He is repped by UTA, Anonymous Content and Ziffren.

Banks and Handelman are coming off the box-office hit “Pitch Perfect 2,” which Banks also helmed, and they are currently prepping “Pitch Perfect 3.” The duo is also developing “The Red Queen” and a “Charlie’s Angels” reboot, both of which have Banks attached to direct.

Banks and Handelman are repped by UTA, Untitled and Ziffren. The news was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.
