The 2016 Britannia Awards will be held Oct. 28 at the Beverly Hilton, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles announced Wednesday.
“We celebrate excellence with laughter, tears and more than a few surprises, in a way only the Brits can. We can’t wait to reveal what is in store for this year,” said BAFTA Los Angeles chairman Kieran Breen.
The cross-cultural awards event honors individuals who have contributed to the advancement of the entertainment arts in the U.S., U.K. and beyond. Proceeds from the ceremony support BAFTA/LA’s various education and community outreach initiatives.
Harrison Ford, Meryl Streep, Orlando Bloom and Amy Schumer were among the honorees at 2015’s Britannia Awards ceremony, which was hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall.
2016’s ceremony will mark the kickoff of BAFTA’s awards season, which will include the BAFTA/LA Tea Party in January and will culminate with London’s EE British Academy Film Awards on Feb. 12, 2017.
