‘Batman v Superman’ Meets ‘Bridget Jones’ in Trailer Mash-Up

An epic trailer meshing scenes from “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” with the upcoming rom-com “Bridget Jones’s Baby” debuted on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” earlier this week.

Borrowing elements from both storylines, the mash-up pits Batman and Superman against one another, yet again, over the matter of Bridget Jones’ unplanned pregnancy. The spoof trailer begins with footage of Bridget (Renee Zellweger), now in her 40s, embracing her newly achieved middle-aged status and living life to its fullest, until she’s hit with a surprise pregnancy. As the trailer alludes, the father of Bridget’s baby is a toss-up between her ex-boyfriend, the Caped Crusader (Ben Affleck), and her new fling, the Man of Steel (Henry Cavill).

“What have you done?” Superman demands (presumably of Batman) in the clip.

The trailer also hints that the two dynamic superheroes were unaware that they were involved with the same girl.

“Is she with you?” Superman asks of Batman, who immediately responds with, “I thought she was with you.”

“Batman v Superman” debuted in theaters last Friday, raking in an impressive $424.1 million globally during its opening weekend and surpassing $500 million after five days of release. “Bridget Jones’s Baby,” the third installment in the “Bridget Jones” saga, won’t be released until Sept. 16.
