Submissions will be accepted until 5 p.m. PT on Oct. 31. through the online submission portal. There are nine production categories, including best feature and best broadcast production, and 22 achievement categories (directing, production design, voice acting, etc.), as well as up to five honorary awards for lifetime achievement, philanthropy, technical and special achievements, and meritorious service.
Entries must be from animated productions released in the United States between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2016. Exceptions are commercials, short subjects, special projects and student films, which can qualify with or without U.S. releases. For more on categories and rules, go here.
ASIFA-Hollywood is also looking for animation industry professionals to participate as nominating committee judges. The deadline to participate is Friday, Aug. 26. Participants do not need to be a member of ASIFA-Hollywood, but they must have an established career in the industry and have top credentials in at least one Annie Awards category. To apply, go here.
The final deadline for ASIFA-Hollywood members to join or renew their memberships in order to vote for the Annie Awards is midnight on Dec. 16.
The Annie Awards will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at Royce Hall on the campus of UCLA.
