Berlin: Paul Rudd and Steve Coogan to Star in Comedy ‘Home’

Paul Rudd and Steve Coogan will topline the comedy “An Ideal Home,” written and directed by Andrew Fleming.

Remstar Studios and National Bank of Canada are co-financing the film, which is in pre-production. Fortitude Intl. is handling foreign rights and is selling the film at the European Film Market. UTA Independent Film Group and WME are handling U.S. rights.

Rudd and Coogan play a bickering couple with an extravagant life, but when the grandson of Coogan’s character shows up and has nowhere to go, the couple reluctantly decide to take him in.

“An Ideal Home” is being produced by Gabriella Tana (“Philomena”), Maria Theresa Arida (“Arbitrage”), Maxime Remillard and Aaron Ryder (“Mud”). Clark Peterson and Lisa Wolofsky exec produce.

“Comedy stalwarts Paul Rudd and Steve Coogan are reuniting on the big screen as a squabbling married couple in Andrew’s endearing and hilarious script about modern family and we are delighted to present this charming film to buyers at EFM,” said Fortitude’s Nadine De Barros in a statement.

Paul Rudd is repped by Lighthouse Management & Media, UTA and Jackoway Tyerman Wertheimer Austen Mandelbaum Morris & Klein.
