EuropaCorp Taps Paris-Based Edouard de Vesinne as Deputy CEO

PARIS– Marc Shmuger, who replaced Christophe Lambert as CEO of Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp in February, has appointed Edouard de Vésinne as deputy CEO.

De Vesinne has been the leading force, along with Thomas Anagyros, behind EuropaCorp Television since its launch and has over 20 years of experience in the industry. Discrete and well-connected in France, De Vesinne will be based in Paris and will certainly play a key role in developing and maintaining relationships with the French film and TV industry.

“Edouard’s appointment as Deputy CEO represents a big addition to our senior leadership team. His deep experience, along with his knowledge of the Group, will be invaluable as we oversee the next chapter of EuropaCorp,” said Marc Shmuger.

At EuropaCorpTV, De Vesinne worked with Anagyros on a number of high-profile series, such as “No Limit,” which was Besson’s first TV show, “Taxi Brooklyn,” “Olivier Marchal’s anticipated series “Section Zero” and most recently the series “Taken” which is currently filming.

“It is a privilege to work with Luc, who is one of the world cinema giants, creator, producer and entrepreneur, and Marc, a renowned professional whose experience and leadership will be crucial to complete the next step of the Group development,” said de Vesinne.

A grad of the prestigious HEC school, De Vesinne previously served as head of film and drama prod at the French network M6, after spending 7 years with Polygram Group.
