9.14 Pictures and XYZ Films are producing an untitled Paris Hilton documentary, to be directed by Don Argott and Sheena Joyce, with shooting starting this summer in Ibiza.
The authorized documentary will be produced by Hilton, Jamie Freed and 9.14 Pictures, with XYZ Films executive producing. XYZ Films will also handle worldwide sales, set to begin at the Cannes Film Festival.
Hilton will discuss her rise to fame, reflect on how the spotlight has contributed to the person she’s become and examine the impact her image has had on young women today.
“Paris Hilton is a modern day Marilyn Monroe — beautiful, iconized, world famous, shaped by mass media and misunderstood,” Argott and Joyce said. “We are thrilled to work with Paris to explore her complicated relationship with the public, the press and the politics that shape our perception of a modern celebrity.
Argott and Joyce’s credits include “Rock School,” “Last Days Here” and “The Art of the Steal.”
Hilton starred with Nicole Richie in the reality series “The Simple Life” between 2003 and 2007, and has had a DJ residency in Ibiza in recent years. Her single “High Off My Love” was on Billboard’s Top 10 Dance Club Songs for five weeks last year.
XYZ Films is currently producing and handling sales for “Brawl in Cell Block 99,” starring Vince Vaughn; the hostage thriller “6 Days,” starring Jamie Bell, Mark Strong and Abbie Cornish; and the action-thriller “Pilgrimage,” starring Jon Bernthal and Tom Holland.
Paris Hilton is represented by WME and Jamie Freed.
