‘The Big Short,’ ‘Room,’ ‘Game of Thrones’ Nab USC Scripter Awards Nominations

The Big Short,” “Brooklyn,” “The End of the Tour,” “The Martian” and “Room” have been selected as the feature film finalists for the USC Libraries Scripter Award.

The organization also named “Games of Thrones,” “The Leftovers,” “The Man in the High Castle,” “Masters of Sex” and “Show Me a Hero” as finalists in its first-ever television award.

The winners will be announced on Feb. 20 in ceremonies at the Edward L. Doheny Jr. Memorial Library at USC. Helen Mirren and Taylor Hackford are serving as honorary chairs of the event.

The award honors the authors of printed works alongside the screenwriters who adapt their stories. “The Imitation Game” won the trophy last year.
