Quirky drama “The Dressmaker” topped the nominations for the Film Critics Circle of Australia awards.

“The Dressmaker” gathered up 10 nominations, putting it a few stitches ahead of “Last Cab To Darwin” and “Mad Max: Fury Road,” which continues to collect awards and nominations in North America. Neil Armfield’s “Holding the Man” has 7 nominations while “Paper Planes” and “Cut Snake” each have 5. “Tanna” has 4 nominations.

Best film nominations went to “The Dressmaker,” “Holding The Man,” “Last Cab To Darwin,” “Mad Max: Fury Road,” Paper Planes” and “Tanna.”

Last year, Australian-made films enjoyed a record A$88 million at their local box office, led by “Mad Mad” and surprise hit “The Dressmaker. That gave them a 7.2% market share.

The awards will be announced on February 23 at a ceremony in Sydney.
