YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Looks like Keith Olbermann is prepared to put his money where his mouth is and officially listed his luxury apartment at the Trump Palace in New York City at $3.9 million, a not insignificant $300,000 less than the $4.2 million he paid for the two-bedroom and 2.5 bathroom condo in April 2007. The frequently strident lefty liberal pundit and sports commentator just can’t bear to come home to a Trump-branded building anymore and publicly announced his plan to vacate the Donald Trump-developed building in a tough-talking op-ed in the Washington Post last month as protest against the Republican presidential front-runner whom he wrote “has degraded the public discourse and the nation itself.”
Listing details, which do not currently include any photographs, show the 1,746-square-foot condo has a 30-foot long living room with panoramic views and a spacious separate dining room or family room easily converted to a third bedroom. The galley-style kitchen was recently refurbished, per marketing materials, and incorporates top-end appliances, lots of storage, convenient counter seating, and a laundry closet. The 40th-floor apartment, which carries hefty monthly taxes and common charges of $6,863, has three small but private terraces and open views to the north, east and south that encompass some of New York City’s most iconic landmarks: the Empire State Building, George Washington Bridge and Central Park. Trump Palace provides its residents with a long list of full-service amenities that include round-the-clock doorman and concierge services, an attended on-site garage, health club, landscaped roof garden, and a children’s play area.
As it turns out, this isn’t the only apartment Mister Olbermann has owned at the Trump Palace, and it’s also not the only one for which he’s likely to take a financial gut punch. According to the fine folk at Property Shark, in May 2009 he paid $810,000 for a 684-square-foot one-bedroom and one-bathroom pad with a large terrace on the seventh floor that he sold at a $100,000-plus loss in in April 2012 for $717,800.
