Ginnifer Goodwin Lists Historic House in Hollywood Hills (EXCLUSIVE)

SELLER: Ginnifer Goodwin
LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA
PRICE: $1,499,000
SIZE: 2,204 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms

YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Four times nominated People’s Choice Award nominee Ginnifer Goodwin had made her fetchingly photogenic and celeb-pedigreed former home in the historic Whitley Heights ‘hood in the foothills above Hollywood available with an asking price of $1,499,000. The stage-trained and pixie-haired former “Big Love” star purchased the property in late 2008 — years before she an her sinuously muscled husband and “Once Upon a Time” co-star Josh Dallas, now parents of two, hitched their romantic wagons — for $1.075 million from arguably underrated “Freaks and Geeks” and “Cougar Town” star Busy Philipps who, in case anyone might be curious, took a toe-curling loss on the property that she bought in late 2005 for $1.349 million from “The O.C.” actress Rachel Bilson who had bought the house just 1.5 years before for $1.235 million “Charmed” star Rose McGowan.

Listing details show the two-story residence sits high and privately above the street on top a street-level single-car garage and contains three bedrooms and three bathrooms in a modest-by-celeb-standards 2,204 square feet of carefully restored and “designer done” interior space. A secured gate opens to an exterior stairway that passes by a fire pit girdled on three sides by a cushioned bench as well as a picturesque, tree-shaded dining terrace as it zigzags its way up to the main entrance. A proper foyer with chic Rorshach-inspired brocade wall covering, steps down to an eclectically and comfortably furnished combination living and dining room with fireplace, high gloss espresso-toned wood floors, a bank of built-in book shelves, architecturally appropriate casement windows, and a couple of sets of French doors that open to a narrow terrace. The brick-floored galley-style kitchen, decked out with jet black cabinetry and filled to the gills with name-brand appliances, opens at one end to a small breakfast area with built-in banquette seating and at the other to a den/family room with adjoining study nook. The two en suite bedrooms on the upper level include a master bedroom with custom-built wardrobes and vintage-style bathroom with white, penny-tile floor and soingée if ever so slightly camp black and white toile pattern wallpaper. French doors lead to a bi-winged terrace with tree-framed views of the Hollywood sign and a built-in banquette and day bed positioned under a trellis structure fitted with operable canvas sunshades.

It’s probably not so much of a surprise to avid celebrity property watchers that Miz Goodwin’s Whitley Heights house has come up for sale since last summer she and Mister Dallas shelled out $3.45 million for a family friendly, 5,758-square-foot home with six bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms that’s described in listing details from the time as a “gated Bel-Air traditional estate nestled on a large flat lot at the end of a cul-de-sac” in a leafy and prosperous part of Encino in the San Fernando Valley.
