SELLERS: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
LOCATION: New Orleans, LA
PRICE: $4,900,000
SIZE: 7,645 square feet, 5 bedrooms, 5 full and 2 half bathrooms

YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Amid their contentiously bitter break up and ugly allegations of child abuse, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have sold their pied-a-terre mansion in New Orleans, according to the Associated Press, for $4.9 million. The sale price is certainly considerably and lucratively above the $3.5 million the uncommonly comely erstwhile couple paid for the historic 1830s French Quarter mansion in 2007 but it is also remarkably below the rose-tinted $6.5 million asking price the property was originally saddled with when it first came up for sale in May 2015 and substantially below the last official asking price of $5.65 million.

Listing descriptions and other online resources indicate the 7,645-square-foot masonry-built main residence, extensively renovated with elegant Venetian plaster walls and custom-designed marble mantles and fireplaces, includes four bedrooms and four full and two half bathrooms while a separate two-story guesthouse offers another bedroom and 1.5 bathrooms. Other features of note include a “grand spiral staircase,” an elevator, a “gourmet kitchen with top of the line appliances, a small swimming pool in the private central courtyard, and two much-coveted off-street parking spots. Listing details from the time the Jolie-Pitts purchased the property show the house once included a recording studio used by local legends like Fats Domino and Little Richard and more recently the mansion Jonah Hill shacked up there he was in town filming “Moneyball.”

The Jolie-Pitts together and separately maintains an extensive portfolio of luxury properties including Chateau Miraval, an approximately 1,200-acre vineyard estate in the south of France they bought in 2012 for around $60 million, and a heavily fortified 1.9-acre multi-residence compound in Los Angeles’s Los Feliz area, part of which was purchased in the mid- to late-1990s by Mister Pitt for $2.55 million and part of which was acquired after they coupled up for another $2,387,500. Our research indicates Mister Pitt separately owns a beach front eco-compound near Santa Barbara bought back when he was married to Jennifer Aniston and Miz Jolie continues to own a 1,232-square-foot apartment on a high floor of the Ansonia building in New York City she picked up in 1997 as well as a traditional Cambodian home on about 100 acres in Cambodia’s Battambang Province she picked up in 2003.
