UTA has hired Sam Wick, previously head of Maker Studios’ enterprise group, as an executive in the agency’s digital media department.

At Disney’s Maker Studios, where worked for more than four years, Wick was executive VP and g.m. of enterprise, overseeing corporate operations, business development and strategic partnerships. Prior to Maker, he was Myspace’s senior VP of marketing and programming overseeing programming, editorial, marketing and production departments. Wick has also worked for AOL, MP3.com and Sony Music.

“When I met Sam I was immediately struck by his entrepreneurial spirit and background,” UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer said in a statement. “Today, our clients are looking for entrepreneurial representation, and Sam will add greatly to our capabilities.”

Brent Weinstein, UTA partner and head of digital media, added, “Sam is an experienced and respected executive who will be an incredible resource for the agency and its clients as we continue to build new businesses and partnerships around globally-recognized brands.”

UTA’s digital business ventures have included launching AwesomenessTV with client Brian Robbins; Keywords Press, the publishing imprint formed by UTA and Simon & Schuster’s Atria publishing group; and PreAct, a social media-based movie tracker in partnership with comScore.
