Joseph Gordon-Levitt is joining Oliver Stone and Edward Snowden at the live Q&A at Fathom Events’ nationwide “Snowden Live” event on Wednesday night, Variety has learned exclusively.

The movie, followed by the Q&A, will screen at about 700 locations at 7:30 pm EDT and 6:30 p.m. CDT, then be shown via tape delay in the Mountain and Pacific zones. Snowden is appearing via the internet from Moscow and Stone will be in New York City.

Open Road is opening the movie nationwide on Friday at about 2,200 locations. Gordon-Levitt stars as Snowden, the former CIA contractor and whistleblower who leaked classified information to the media. The film also stars Shailene Woodley, Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Tom Wilkinson, Scott Eastwood, Timothy Olyphant, Ben Schnetzer, Rhys Ifans and Nicolas Cage.

Stone directed “Snowden” from a script he wrote with Kieran Fitzgerald based on Luke Harding’s book “The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World’s Most Wanted Man” and “Time of the Octopus,” written by Snowden’s Russian lawyer, Anatoly Kucherena.

Snowden was charged in 2013 by the U.S. Department of Justice with two counts of violating the Espionage Act and theft of government property, and his passport was revoked a week later by the U.S. Department of State. He was granted temporary asylum by Russia in 2014 and received a three-year residency permit that year.
