‘How to Be Single’ Director to Helm Netflix Series ‘#Girlboss’

Following the premiere of his upcoming romantic comedy “How to Be Single,” director Christian Ditter has signed on to direct the upcoming Netflix series “#Girlboss,” based on Sophia Amoruso’s story and exec produced by Charlize Theron and Kay Cannon.

Cannon, writer of the “Pitch Perfect” franchise, will serve as the showrunner. She’ll exec produce the new series with Theron, Beth Kono, Laverne McKinnon and Amoruso.

Inspired by Amoruso’s best-selling book, the “#Girlboss” series is about Amoruso’s rags-to-riches story from dumpster-diving and selling vintage clothes on eBay through her Nasty Gal Vintage label to building a L.A.-headquartered multimillion-dollar fashion empire by the age of 27.

Ditter is expected to only helm the first episode.

The Munich-based director has demonstrated his ability to deliver strong, independent female characters in his past credits like “How to Be Single” and “Love, Rosie,” starring Sam Claflin; “#Girlboss” seems to fall in that wheelhouse.

Some of Ditter’s international credits include “The Crocodile” franchise and “Wickie and the Treasure of the Gods.” He is repped by CAA, Casarotto Ramsay & Associates and Above the Line.
