“A Trip to Unicorn Island,” the feature-length documentary film featuring Lilly Singh — the Canadian comedian and YouTube star known as “IISuperwomanII” online — is no longer exclusively available on YouTube Red.
It’s still available to subscribers of YouTube Red, but as of Friday the film also is available on digital VOD platforms worldwide, including Amazon Video, Apple’s iTunes, Microsoft Movies & TV, Sony PlayStation Store and Vudu.
The 80-minute documentary — one of YouTube Red’s four inaugural launch titles in February 2016 — follows Singh on her ambitious 26-city world tour. Directed by Scott Winn, the film also features cameos from and interviews with Singh’s family and friends, including Humble the Poet and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
“It’s such a thrill to be able to relive my world tour in ‘A Trip to Unicorn Island,'” said Singh. “When people watch the film, I hope they see that hard work does pay off and that your dreams are always worth fighting for!”
On iTunes and Vudu, the film is $9.99 for either HD or SD versions. On Amazon, PlayStation Store and Microsoft Movies & TV, the HD version is $12.99 and the SD version is $9.99. Meanwhile, a DVD release of the film (distributed by Kino Lorber) is set for Dec. 13.

“A Trip to Unicorn Island” was produced by youth content studio Astronauts Wanted, a joint venture between Judy McGrath and Sony Music Entertainment. Gunpowder & Sky Distribution (formerly indie film distributor FilmBuff, which G&S bought in September) acquired worldwide VOD distribution rights to the film.
“We were total fans of Lilly from the beginning and knew we had to make this film to share her motivating story,” McGrath said. “It’s fantastic that “A Trip to Unicorn Island’ will be available to even more of her fans to watch and get inspired by.”
Singh rose to fame on YouTube, where she started posting videos in 2010 and now has more than 10 million subscribers. The 28-year-old has appeared in the feature films “Ice Age: Collision Course” and “Bad Moms.” In March 2017, Singh will release her debut book, “How to Be a Bawse: A Guide to Surviving Conquering Life,” and has released her own lipstick called Bawse with Smashbox. She’s also collaborated with notable figures such as Jimmy Fallon, Michelle Obama and Selena Gomez.
