Andy Grammer’s NFL Halftime Show Ripped to Shreds on Twitter

The NFL game between the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings has been trending all Thanksgiving afternoon, first thanks to Aretha Franklin’s lengthy national anthem and now Andy Grammer’s halftime show.

And while most viewers respected the Queen of Soul’s performance, they absolutely ripped the pop singer to shreds.

“Hair model grabs microphone and delivers forgettable halftime performance,” a Sports Illustrated blog headline wrote, in reference to Grammer’s perfectly styled coif.

The singer laid down midfield with the Lions cheerleaders doing a routine that seemed better suited for the synchronized swimming pool.

The Twitterverse was not having it. Check out some of the harshest burns below.

John Barchard posted a screengrab of Grammer lying midfield with the caption, “When you get done with your 3rd plate of food but you have to sing…”

Pat McAfee wrote, “Spit.. puke… blood… sweat… just a few of the things Andy Grammer and the Lions cheerleaders are laying in right now.”

Angry Browns Fan added, “Is Andy Grammer laying down during his performance to avoid being shot in Detroit?”

#teamfollowback wrote, “The only thing that all Americans have agreed on during the past 6 months was that Andy Grammer had a terrible halftime show.”

Big E did a play on the #ImThankfulFor hashtag, writing, “ whoever the hell thought Andy Grammer would be a good halftime performer.:

Bill Barnwell would’ve opted for the national anthem singer, writing, “Just show a video of Aretha from Youtube on the big screen.”

Selita agreed, sarcastically saying, “Yup. When I think Detroit music I think Andy Grammer. I hope Miss Aretha is already on the way home.”

Hall of Famer Warren Sapp was puzzled by the musical act choice, tweeting #WhatIsThis

Tyler Kallevig wrote, “Vikings may of lost but at least we weren’t the team that hired Andy Grammer as the half time entertainment.”

Added Big 12 Refs, “Think our armed forces would’ve fought as hard in WWII if they had known Andy Grammer would eventually perform at halftime on Thanksgiving?.”

To be fair, not all the tweets were negative, especially from Grammer’s female fans.

One fan named Miranda tweeted, “It’s kinda funny that everyone knows how obsessed i am with andy grammer that they text me to tell me he’s singing in the halftime show”

Emma added, “Sitting adown to watch the game but acctually [sic] just waiting to watch Andy Grammer perform.”
