Tele Muenchen Group has sold exclusive subscription VOD rights for the John Le Carré spy series “The Night Manager,” starring Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie, to Amazon Prime for Germany and Austria. The series makes its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival on Thursday as part of the European Film Market’s Berlinale Special Series.

Academy Award-winning Danish filmmaker Susanne Bier directed the miniseries, which airs on BBC One in the U.K. and on AMC Stateside. “The Night Manager” centers on a hotel night manager and former British soldier (Hiddleston) who is recruited by a government agent to infiltrate the inner circle of a ruthless arms dealer (Laurie).

The series will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime in Germany and Austria on March 28 and will be available to subscribers in both English and German. “The Night Manager” will also be available as electronic sell-though on the same day on all digital platforms. TMG’s Concorde Home Entertainment will release the series on DVD and Blu-ray April 21.

The series also stars Elizabeth Debicki (“The Man from U.N.C.L.E.”), Tom Hollander (“Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation”) and Olivia Colman (“London Road”).

The production marks the first TV adaptation of a Le Carré novel in two decades. The author is also serving as the series’ exec producer along with Simon Cornwell, Stephen Cornwell and Stephen Garrett as well as screenplay writer David Farr.
