Relativity Media has announced that Kenneth Halsband, who has been president of physical and post production at Relativity Studios, has added duties as chief operating officer.

Halsband will oversee day-to-day operations across Relativity’s business units.

“Ken is a proven leader who has played a key role in Relativity’s evolution as a 360-degree content engine over the past nine years,” said Relativity chief Ryan Kavanaugh. “His breadth of experience and deep knowledge of the content production process make him a natural fit for the role of Chief Operating Officer.”

Halsband joined Relativity in 2007 as head of physical and post production. He also co-produced “The Fighter,” “Dear John,” “Limitless,” “Immortals” and “Safe Haven,” and oversaw co-productions and acquistions, such as “Free Birds” and “Black or White.”

Before joining Relativity, Halsband founded Finish Line Post, an independent technology and digital post-production company.

Relativity is preparing to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, with a reorganization plan set to go before a New York bankruptcy judge.
