Continuing Dan Fierman’s revamp of MTV News, MTV has hired Amy Nicholson, Molly Lambert and Mark Lisanti to its staff.

Nicholson is departing her post as film critic at LA Weekly to become the chief film critic for MTV News. She was voted best critic by the Los Angeles Press Club, the Association of Alternative Newsmedia and the National Entertainment and Arts Journalism Awards. She also penned a nonfiction book about Tom Cruise called “Tom Cruise: Anatomy of an Actor” and hosts the film podcast “The Canon.”

Lambert is coming from the recently shuttered Grantland, where she wrote about pop culture and co-hosted the “Girls in Hoodies” podcast. She will be the lead music writer for MTV News.

Lisanti is also coming from Grantland, where he was an editor. He will now be the senior director of TV and movies for MTV News.

The new hires will begin on Feb. 1, working from MTV’s Los Angeles offices.
