Hillary Clinton is canceling a west coast fundraising swing after she was diagnosed with pneumonia and has been advised “to rest and modify her schedule.” On Sunday, she left a 9/11 commemoration ceremony because of overheating, her campaign said.
Clinton was scheduled to attend fundraisers in Los Angeles on Tuesday, including events at the home of Seth MacFarlane and another at the home of Barry Diller and Diane Von Furstenberg. Plans are in the works to still hold the events rather than postpone.
Earlier in the day, her campaign released a statement from Dr. Lisa Bardack, who said that Clinton “has been experiencing a cough related to allergies. On Friday, during followup evaluation of her prolonged cough, she was diagnosed with pneumonia. She was put on antibiotics and advised to modify her schedule. I have just examined her and she is now re-hydrated and recovering nicely.”
Clinton returned to her home in Chappaqua on Sunday afternoon.
Update, Monday: Fundraising sources now say the events will still be on, but the details are still being worked out as to whether she will call in or whether former President Bill Clinton will take her place.
