Variety has promoted Eric Legendre and Celine Rotterman to Co-Managing Directors of International Advertising & Strategic Partnerships.

Legendre and Rotterman will oversee international advertising revenue across digital, print and events.

Having joined Variety in 2007, Legendre, who is based in Paris, has driven significant revenue and marketshare growth across Variety’s portfolio with entertainment and Fortune 500 consumer clients in France and multiple foreign territories ranging from Sweden to South Africa, Israel and Morocco. Legendre developed key events at some of the world’s leading festivals and markets, such as Cannes Film Festival, MIP-TV and the Annecy Animation Festival. Legendre previously held positions in the U.K. telecom industry and in the Asian insurance sector.

Rotterman, based in London, joined Variety in 2010, and has overseen sales across Variety’s platforms for Germany, Central Europe, U.K. Television, Turkey, Russia and the CIS. In her five years with the company, she has strategically grown her sales territories’ revenue, exceeded marketshare and has created critical event franchises at festivals and markets like the Berlin Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, MIP-TV and many others. Prior to joining Variety, Rotterman worked as a radio presenter in the Dominican Republic and as an account executive at Screen International.

“The promotion of Eric and Celine coupled with the hire of Henry Chu as European Bureau Chief further cements Variety’s position as the leading international entertainment business news source,” said Variety Group Publisher Michelle Sobrino-Stearns.

Variety’s current International Director, Alberto Lopez, will continue to focus on Variety’s business interests and strategic partnerships in the Middle East and U.K., including managing brand extensions and licensing.
