PARIS — A man armed with two handguns was arrested by French police at Disneyland Paris on Thursday at the entrance of a hotel. He was also carrying a box of ammunition and a copy of the Koran, according to reports.

The 28-year-old man is not known by local authorities and showed up at Disneyland Paris with a women who was also arrested, but unarmed, per BFMTV. His bag reportedly triggered metal detectors as he entered Disney’s Hotel New York.

French police are currently interrogating the man, while the court of Meaux has opened an investigation. French reports have indicated that the man was living in Paris. A police source told AFP that the suspect said he was carrying the weapons for self-protection.

Disneyland Paris remains open.

The arrest comes less than three months after France’s deadliest terror attack, which killed 130 people on Nov. 13. Since then, the country has been under a state of emergency, which French President Francois Hollande wants to extend by another three months.
