AXS Adds ‘X Factor UK’ Companion Show To Primetime Lineup

AXS is doubling down on the U.K. edition of “The X Factor,” adding the companion show “Xtra Factor” to its primetime lineup.

AXS is in its second year of carrying “The X Factor UK,” which features judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, singer Rita Ora and BBC disc jockey Nick Grimshaw. The 12th season of the U.K. series bows on Aug. 30 on AXS, followed by the hourlong “Xtra Factor,” hosted by singer Rochelle Humes and British DJ Melvin Odoom.

“Last year’s U.S. debut of ‘The X Factor UK’ was a major success with our viewers, and AXS TV is proud to be able to take them even deeper by finally bringing ‘The Xtra Factor’ to America for the first time ever,” said Mark Cuban, AXS TV CEO. “With its personable hosts, and open and honest interviews, this series is the perfect addition to our lineup, providing viewers with the same in-depth front-row experience that AXS TV is known for.”

FremantleMedia International distributes “X Factor UK” and “Xtra Factor,” produced by Cowell’s Syco Entertainment and FremantleMedia’s Thames TV.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this post incorrectly stated that Humes and Odoom are married.
