As Emmy season ramps up, Variety and PBS SoCaL’s second “Actors on Actors” venture will premiere in two installments on June 14 and 21.
The interview show features conversations between actors including Julia Louis-Dreyfus with Jeffrey Tambor and Queen Latifah with Taraji P. Henson, and covers subjects including their craft, the ever-changing business of television and each other’s work.
“The television landscape is changing rapidly on a day-to-day basis, attracting an increasingly vast array of talented actors,” said Michelle Sobrino, publisher of Variety. “Variety is excited to again collaborate with PBS SoCaL to bring these entertaining and engaging conversations between some of today’s most highly celebrated television actors to the PBS audience.”
Other interviews include Jessica Lange with Taylor Schilling, Liev Schreiber with Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michael Sheen with Bob Odenkirk, Claire Danes with Don Cheadle, Matt LeBlanc with Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Clive Owen with Julianna Margulies, Viola Davis with Jane Fonda and Gina Rodriguez with Uzo Aduba.
“After the great success from our initial partnership with Variety, PBS SoCal is excited to once again bring these intimate conversations to our esteemed viewers,” said Andy Russell, PBS SoCaL COO. “Variety Studios: Actors on Actors gives the PBS audience an informative and in-depth look at the behind-the-scenes workings of the entertainment industry similar to the extraordinary journalism that Variety provides on a daily basis.”
“We are thrilled to be a part of The Variety Studio and see this partnership as another opportunity for Autograph to recognize and celebrate the individuality of such a diverse group of actors,” said Amanda Altree, senior director, marketing, Autograph Collection Hotels. We also pride ourselves on the uniqueness of each hotel in our Autograph Collection where entertainment, art, design and literature are key elements in the guest experience.”
In addition to airing on PBS stations around the country, the videos will also be available on Variety.com. The first installment of “Actors on Actors” was nominated for an Emmy in the entertainment programming category.
“Variety Studio: Actors on Actors” is presented by Autograph Collection Hotels, Marriott International’s distinctive portfolio of hotels. The series is sponsored by Caesarstone.
