USA Network has given a sixth-season pickup to drama series “Suits,” which has become a pillar of its schedule.

The renewal comes a week after the show opened its fifth season to a healthy 3.4 million viewers in Nielsen’s “live plus-3” estimates. USA has ordered 16 episodes for season six.

” ‘Suits’ has set the bar high in every way and continues to be a strong performer and marquee property for USA,” said USA president Chris McCumber.

Hinted Jeff Watchtel, chief content officer for NBC Cable Entertainment and Universal Cable Prods.: “(Showrunner) Aaron Korsh has some great surprises for the audience at the end of season five that should really set future seasons on an exciting new course.”

“Suits” revolves around the machinations of lawyers at a high-powered Manhattan law firm. Korsh is creator and exec producer along with Doug Liman, Dave Bartis, Gene Klein, Anton Cropper, Daniel Arkin and Chris Downey.
