Belly slaps for all!
Tracy Morgan is set to host “Saturday Night Live” on Oct. 17 and he’s ready to celebrate. Or, as he teases with one of his favorite jokes in the just-released trailer for the episode, he’s “gonna get everyone in this building pregnant.”
Morgan also uses the teasers to reference what kept him from television for so long: The 2014 car accident that left him with severe brain trauma and killed his friend and fellow comedian, James “Jimmy Mack” McNair.
“Did I used to work here? I can’t remember anymore?” he deadpans to Bobby Moynihan in one clip while demanding that the “SNL” cast member clap for him in another.
Earlier this year, Morgan made a surprise appearance at the Primetime Emmy Awards. Before handing out the award for outstanding drama series that night, he took the time to make an emotional speech about his recovery.
“Last year, Jimmy Kimmel said, ‘We’d see you here next year, Tracy Morgan,'” he said then. “Thanks to my doctors and my beautiful wife, I’m here standing on my own two feet. God bless all you for your love, prayers and positive thoughts for the past 15 months. I’m honored to be here at the Emmys.”
