Michael Kelly, Jonathan Pryce, Oona Chaplin and David Hayman have joined Tom Hardy in the cast of the FX/BBC limited series “Taboo,” which begins filming in London this week.
The eight-episode drama revolves around a man who returns to 1814 London after 10 years in Africa to find he’s been left a mysterious legacy by his father that puts him in a face-off agains the powerful East India Company. The series is derived from an original story by Hardy and his father Chips Hardy. Chips Hardy is a consulting producer.
Steven Knight (“Peaky Blinders”) created the series, to be directed by Kristoffer Nyholm.
Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Prods. and Hardy’s Hardy Son & Baker are producing for BBC and FX. Knight, Scott, Hardy and Scott Free’s Kate Crowe, Hardy Son’s Dean Baker and Timothy Bricknell.
