‘The X-Files’ Revival: Mitch Pileggi to Reprise Role on Fox

Mitch Pileggi will reprise his role as Walter Skinner in Fox’s upcoming six-episode “X-Files” revival.

Pileggi announced he would rejoin the cast on Twitter on Monday, saying, “Walter Skinner will once again be getting all grumpy and bitchy with his two wayward kids.”

Rumors of Pileggi’s return ran wild sans confirmation since March, when David Duchovny let slip to David Letterman that Pileggi and “the Cigarette-Smoking Man” would rejoin the show. Shortly after, Duchovny backpedaled in an interview with Variety.

“I’m not even sure they’re signed up yet. I guess I spoke out of turn,” he said. “But I assume they will. I assume we’ll have as many people as we can.”

Pileggi will join Duchovny and co-lead Gillian Anderson, who previously confirmed their participation in the revival.
