Timothy Busfield & Melissa Gilbert to Guest Star on ‘The Night Shift’

The Night Shift” is paging Timothy Busfield and Melissa Gilbert.

The real life husband-wife duo will guest star in an upcoming episode of the NBC medical drama, Variety has learned. Busfield will also direct the season-two episode.

Busfield will play Shane, a tall-tale-telling, bull-riding Texas cowboy who is brought into the ER after being injured in a rodeo collapse.

Gilbert will play Lindsay, Shane’s longtime girlfriend and rodeo partner who loves him for his boisterous, risk-taking personality, but now has to confront the truth that she may not know him as well as she thought.

The episode, titled “Hold On,” is slated to premiere April 27.
