The ensemble comedy follows an agoraphobic recluse, Prentiss Porter, who ventures outside for the first time in 20 years, only to find his potential soulmate moving into the building across the street.
Karlin, whose credits also include “The Colbert Report” and “Modern Family,” will also serve as an exec producer. Frankel penned the “Entourage” pilot and directed features “The Devil Wears Prada” and “Marley and Me.” He won an Emmy for his work on “Band of Brothers.”
Howard Franklin wrote the pilot. The project, hailing from ABC Studios, will be produced by Dan Fogelman (Rhode Island Ave. Productions).
Karlin has an overall deal with ABC Studios and is repped by UTA and managed by David Miner at 3Arts. Frankel is repped by Nancy Josephson at WME and managed by Rosalie Swedlin of Anonymous.
