“The Hills” creator and exec producer Adam DiVello has signed a multi-year overall television agreement with Lionsgate, Lionsgate Television Group chairman Kevin Beggs announced Tuesday.

The deal will allow DiVello to create, develop and produce unscripted programming through his Done and Done Productions banner. DiVello’s credits also include “Hills” prequel “Laguna Beach” and spinoff “The City,” which he also created and executive produced.

“Adam is a terrific producer and we’ve long admired his trendsetting work,” said Beggs. “We’re delighted about this partnership, which will open up exciting new opportunities for the creation of unscripted content.”

The move comes as Lionsgate has put considerable concentration in reality TV, including producing upcoming series “Douglas Family Gold” for Oxygen and “Hellavator” for GSN. “Monica The Medium,” an unscripted series produced out of a partnership with Dave Caplan’s Trooper Entertainment, premieres Aug. 25 on ABC Family.

“I couldn’t be happier to become the newest member of the Lionsgate family,” said DiVello. “Having long been a fan of the content they produce and the quality with which it’s done, I feel very fortunate to have them behind me and my company as we work to create compelling and innovative programming.”
