The CW is sticking with its traditional fall rollout plan of starting the season a couple of weeks after the Big Four networks, with most of its returning series bowing in early October.
The network’s 2015-16 season will launch Tuesday, Oct. 6 — the third Tuesday of the television season — with the second-season premieres of “The Flash” (pictured) and “iZombie.” “The Flash” similarly launched on the third Tuesday of last season and went on to become the network’s biggest hit to date.
“Arrow” and “Supernatural” follow on Oct. 7, “The Vampire Diaries” and spinoff “The Originals” return Oct. 8, and “Reign” and “America’s Next Top Model” will air as a tandem for the first time on Oct. 9. The 22nd “guys vs. girls” cycle of “Top Model” premieres Aug. 5 and will air on Wednesdays before moving over to Friday.
The network’s lone series premiere this fall, hourlong comedy “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” will bow Oct. 19 — the fifth Monday of the television season — along with the second-season opener of “Jane the Virgin.”
CW won’t have any of its scripted series airing in the first two weeks, but it hopes to get some eyeballs for its two-night “iHeartRadio Music Festival,” which airs on Tuesday, Sept. 29, and Wednesday, Sept. 30.
