The CW Adds Scripted British Comedy ‘Dates’ & Couples’ Game Show to Summer Schedule

The CW has added two new series to its summer 2015 slate, reality game show “A Wicked Offer” and scripted British comedy “Dates,” the net announced Monday.

“A Wicked Offer” puts couples to the test to see just how far they’ll go for money. The hourlong unscripted series presents couples with Faustian bargains, trying the duo’s moral and ethical boundaries, as they must decide whether to complete a series of tasks and challenges that could potentially wreak havoc on their relationship for cash prizes. The series is exec produced by Jenny Daly (“Storage Hunters,” “Mystery Diners,” “Container Wars,” “Invention USA”) through her T Group Productions banner.

The net has also acquired nine episodes of the British comedy “Dates” from Scottish writer Bryan Elsley (“Skins”). Each episode follows a couple’s first date, after meeting via online dating. The series stars Oona Chaplin (“Game of Thrones”), Ben Chaplin (“Thin Red Line”), Andrew Scott (“Sherlock”), Katie McGrath (“Dracula”), Amanda Hale (“The White Queen”) and Gemma Chan (“Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit”). “Dates,” which aired on Channel 4 in Great Britain, is produced by Balloon (Dates) Ltd., and distributed by eOne.

Both shows are set to bow this summer, but have not received premiere dates.
