Supergirl” has cast its General Sam Lane. “24” alum Glenn Morshower will play the military man in the CBS superhero show’s freshman season, Variety has confirmed.

General Lane is described as a powerful military lifer — and an overprotective father to both Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan Tatum) and her sister, Lois. His arrival in National City stirs up trouble for Supergirl when he enlists her in a dangerous government initiative. As “Supergirl” exec producer Greg Berlanti revealed to Variety, General Lane will have an affiliation with Red Tornado (Iddo Goldberg).

Morshower’s casting was first reported by IGN.
