Idina Menzel & John Legend To Perform At Super Bowl XLIX

Idina Menzel will sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl XLIX, the NFL and NBC announced Friday. John Legend will sing “America The Beautiful.”

Both performances will be televised live on NBC from the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona on Sunday, February 1, as part of the net’s worldwide Super Bowl pregame broadcast. Treshelle Edmond will perform both songs in American Sign Language.

Katy Perry will headline the halftime show, Variety previously reported.

Billy Joel, Diana Ross, Whitney Houston, Harry Connick, Jr., Garth Brooks, Cher, Faith Hill, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé Knowles, Christina Aguilera and more superstars have sang the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, and “America The Beautiful” has been performed by Mary J. Blige, Marc Anthony, Alicia Keys, Lea Michele and Jennifer Hudson at the annual NFL event.

NBC’s pregame and halftime shows are an NFL Network Production, and will be exec produced by Ricky Kirschner.
