ABC Family has cast Jon Cor as weapons trainer Hodge Starkweather in its saga series “Shadowhunters.”

The “Being Human” alum, who also appears in Syfy’s upcoming “Dark Matter,” will be a recurring guest star on the series.

“Shadowhunters” is based on Cassandra Clare’s “Mortal Instruments” books. It follows Clary Fray (“Happyland” and “The Fosters’” Katherine McNamara), a teenager who learns that she is descended from a long line of the titular human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. When her mother is kidnapped, Clary must embrace her destiny and accept that the world is full of faeries, warlocks, vampires and werewolves.

The cast also includes Dominic Sherwood as the narcissistic and “lethally gorgeous” bad boy Shadowhunter Jace, Alberto Rosende as Clary’s best friend Simon, and Emeraude Toubia as the beautiful and well-trained Shadowhunter Isabelle. “Glee” actor Harry Shum Jr. will play an ancient and eccentric warlock named Magnus Bane and “Reign’s” Alan Van Sprang will play the evil and cunning Valentine.

Cor is represented by The Characters agency in Vancouver and Adam Levine at Industry Entertainment.
