Rob Zombie, Mila Kunis Developing Horror Comedy Series for Starz

Starz is developing the comic fightfest series “Trapped” with Mila Kunis and Rob Zombie exec producing, it was announced Tuesday.

The half-hour comedy series is written by “Arrested Development’s” Joey Slamon and takes place over a single night in the home of a wealthy family under attack by a murderous cult. Horror kingpin Zombie will also direct. Kunis, along with Susan Curtis, Cami Curtis and Lisa Sterbakov, are exec producing under their Orchard Farm Productions banner.

“We’re excited to work in partnership with Rob Zombie as well as Mila Kunis and her Orchard Farm Productions associates Susan Curtis, Cami Curtis and Lisa Sterbakov on this horror comedy series,” said Starz managing director Carmi Zlotnik.

This project could serve as the beginning of a trend for the premium cabler. On Halloween, Starz will premiere its “Evil Dead” sequel “Ash vs. Evil Dead” with Bruce Campbell returning to his iconic role.

Orchard Farm Productions is repped by CAA and Patti Felker. Slamon is repped by Gersh and Peter Nichols. Zombie is repped by David Fox at Myman and Andy Gould for Spectacle Entertainment. Starz will retain all domestic and international multiplatform rights including television, home entertainment and digital.
