Vanessa Lachey has landed a lead female role in NBC’s upcoming “People Are Talking,” after Meaghan Rath bowed out of the sitcom, Variety has confirmed.

The recasting comes as Rath (“Being Human”) heads over to Fox’s “The Guide to Surviving Life,” which was in first position to NBC’s laffer when she was cast as a series regular in both comedies, both of which were ordered to series.

Lachey will play Mark Paul-Gosselaar’s wife in “Talking,” which revolves around two different couples who are neighbors and best friends. The “Dads” alum joins other cast members Tone Bell and Bresha Webb, who play the other couple.

“People Are Talking” is on the Peacock’s Friday night fall schedule, slated in the 8:30 p.m. slot.

TVLine first reported the news of Lachey’s casting.
