Cayo’s previous credits include a string of telenovelas and series led by Colombian telenovelas “The Hypochondriac” and “El Secretario.” She won a best actress India Catalina award, the Colombian equivalent of an Emmy, for the latter.
A Los Angeles resident, Cayo is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian. She is the face of Pantene in Colombia and was nommed for a Latin Grammy for her album “Llegare.”
Netflix is expecting her Peruvian and Colombian fanbase to extend the appeal of “Club de Cuervos” outside of Mexico, where it was shot on location. Managed by Vision Entertainment, Cayo is on the cover of this month’s Maxim Mexico.
Produced by Gaz Alazraki, Leo Zimbron and Mike Lam, the 13-episode “Club de Cuervos” was helmed by Alazraki for Netflix.
The soccer dramedy centers on a feud among heirs of a soccer club after the owner’s demise. Alazraki helmed and co-penned “Nosotros los Nobles,” a massive theatrical hit in in 2013 in Mexico, where it now ranks as the second-highest grossing Mexican film ever.
Cayo is yet another addition to Paradigm’s burgeoning roster of Latino talent. The agency has been amping up its international talent base to meet the growing demand for Latino talent in the biz.
