“Rock This Boat: New Kids on the Block” was renewed for a second season on Pop. The docuseries follows New Kids on the Block members Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre, Danny Wood and Jordan and Jonathan Knight on their annual fan cruise.
The first season focused on the dedicated fans who were on-board with the boy group, with limited backstage footage of the performances.
The show will return with eight episodes focusing more on the “Step By Step” singers, giving fans unprecedented access to the entire NKOTB cruise experience. Cameras will be inside each band member’s cabin as well as backstage to capture real interactions, banter and private moments.
“We are excited for season two of ‘Rock This Boat,’ which will shine a light on our band’s amazing, unsurpassed relationship with our fans — the best fans in the history of music,” Wahlberg said. “We are also excited to show the millions of fans who cannot attend our cruises just how awesome the NKOTB and Blockhead relationship is, as we turn the cameras around on ourselves this time.”
Pop has even hired five “Blockheads” as consulting producers on the series to further accommodate fan viewership. “Rock This Boat: New Kids On The Block” is produced by Jarrett Creative Group in association with Donnie D. Productions. Wahlberg, Julie Insogna Jarrett and Seth Jarrett serve as executive producers.
