NBC has launched into pilot season with orders for three comedy pilots, including a project from the team behind TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland.”

All three projects hail from NBC’s Universal TV production studio.

“Cleveland” creator Suzanne Martin has penned an untitled multi-camera project about a married couple who struggle with empty-nest syndrome until their adult daughters move back home. Martin is exec producer with Hazy Mills partners Todd Milliner and Sean Hayes, who also worked with her on “Cleveland.”

“How We Live” is a single-cam vehicle about an anthropologist blogger who moves to the suburbs. Steven Cragg and Brian Bradley penned the script and exec produce with David Janollari.

“Superstore,” from scribe Justin Spitzer, revolves around a group of friends who work at a big box store. Spitzer penned the pilot and exec produces with Ruben Fleischer and David Bernard. Fleischer is on board to direct the single-cam pilot.

Pilot season is launching into high gear with more orders expected later this week from NBC and ABC prepping a batch of orders expected to hit late this week or early next week.
