Nix penned the script and will serve as exec producer along with Berg, who has been busy in TV recently as an exec producer and director of the pilot for HBO’s “Ballers” and “The Leftovers,” among other projects.

The untitled Fox pilot is a big action comedy set in the world of truck driving, which centers around a military vet-turned-truck driver. The project was brought to Fox through Berg’s Film 44 banner, which has a first-look deal there. 20th Century Fox TV is the studio.

“I’ve always admired Pete’s facility with comedy, drama, and action, so I thought it would make sense to do a comedy/drama/action show with him,” Nix told Variety.

Nix was the showrunner behind USA Network’s long-running “Burn Notice” and is now at the helm of USA’s “Complications.” He also co-created FX’s Billy Crystal comedy “The Comedians,” which was not renewed for a second season.

Berg’s past TV credits include creating NBC/DirecTV’s “Friday Night Lights.”

Nix is repped by WME, Mikkel Bondesen and David Colden. Berg is repped by WME and Hirsch Wallerstein.
